We used to stay here many years ago but then it gone run down so I was a little nervous staying here. The property has been improved although could use a little more. Wish they had at least Queen size beds! We have a king at home so we ended up sleeping in separate beds - while travelling to celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the room was very clean, the linens were outstanding. One comment - most hotels give you 2 faceclothes and we usually ask for 2 more. We both shower every night so use a facecloth each and in the morning I like to have a clean facecloth to wash my face in the morning. We had breakfast in the dining room and it was comparable to any other and they were also able to accommodate my gluten allergy. I would stay there again. Hotel prices in Halifax are outrageous and this was the best price out of every site I looked at.

We had a very late check in and the staff member at the desk was understanding and friendly. The room was clean and exactly what we needed after a late flight into Halifax.

We stayed overnight for a short 12 hour stay. At first we were a little uncertain as the staircase leading up to the second floor was a bit questionable looking. However, we got to our room and it was clean and looked to be recently renovated. Some of the facilities were dated, for example the air conditioning unit was quite old looking. However it functioned great and it cooled the room perfectly.
The man who checked us in was very friendly. We also had breakfast at the attached restaurant and it was decent. Overall it was a good stay and close to the citadel and other local attractions.

Expensive only because it is near to the downtown not because it is worth the rate it charges.
