Great stay at der lowe
Awesome rooms- convenient check in and delicious breakfast! The decor looked very attractive and the rooms were very clean and well maintained!

The restaurant is a must in the Oberallgäu
The food at the Lion is an absolute treat.
What the kitchen always conjures up on the plates is guaranteed to be an enjoyable evening.
This time the lovely Eva with her charming, attentive and unobtrusive service put the crown on the great food!

Small but nice!
Because we only needed 1 night, the focus was on just staying overnight and not on living, so we decided on the smallest room (17 sqm) in the hotel.
The room contained all amenities and even a rain shower!
For 2 nights or more, the room size of 20 sqm would be more appropriate.
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and did not regret this!
My wife ordered the pink fried pork fillet with side dishes and I ordered the beef roulade with side dishes.
Both dishes were really delicious and the portions were well dosed.
The ambience of the restaurant is very cozy, almost like in a living room due to the low ceiling height!
Breakfast the next morning completed our stay at the hotel great.
And last but not least, the entire hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating
We can very well imagine staying at this hotel again!

great hotel, a hidden gem in the South of Germany
We (fam. of 5) stayed here for over a week in their absolutely amazing "Alpin Loft".
This is really a great place to be staying. Just far enough away from the crowded tourism places, but close enough by if you want to see the sights of this part of Southern Germany, with Zugspitze, Neuschwanstein and the town of Oberstdorf within reasonable car driving distance. Having said that, if you go here please also look at the local things to do: like Breitachklamm, Erzgruben, burg ruin Falkenstein and much more. Coming back to Der Löwe, a great hotel and a fabulous loft, where you can stay with up to 10 people and has a lovely balcony to sit everybody.
Hotel is situated next to a road and next to the church with a bell tower. This is giving some noise, But non of us found this disturbing. Good parking facilities and friendly staff.

Really disappointing
We stayed in this guesthouse for two nights after a hiking tour in Allgäu and found the place really disappointing.
It's located in a characteristic little square (probably the only one in the village) near the city hall and the church and it looks like a pretty place from the outside, unfortunately things change once you get inside.
Our room was small and incredibly warm, and the tiny little window was of no help. We kept it open the whole night longing for fresh air, but with no avail.
The bathroom was also an unpleasant cubicle. It had no window and it was almost impossible to spend more than five minutes in there without starting sweating.
The floor made all the possible noises and there was a strange dirty gap between it and the walls. Never seen something like that before.
I honestly doubt that I will be back in this place. It could be a nice little gem among the mountains but I really had the feeling that nobody there cared enough to invest some time in it. It was kind of left on its own and I am afraid that in the long run the negligence of the persons in charge will destroy this little guesthouse.
