Good place in Dresden Neustadt
This Australia-themed hostel was located very convenient next to Dresden Neustadt-train station. It’s also close to bars/restaurants and supermarkets. Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly host and she explained me a lot about the surrounding area and where to go.
The rooms were clean. There were multiple shared showers and also 2 shared kitchens. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to stay. Considering the average prices in Germany you get a good price-quality ratio at this hostel.

Excellent hostel in good location
This was an excellent hostel (I give it a rating of 4 1/2) in the Neustadt district. The hostel was very clean, customer service at the front desk was good, comfortable beds, desktop computers were available for free use, a good kitchen and outdoor patio with the hostel being in a good location at a good price. Minor drawbacks were the wi-fi seemed slow on the 2nd floor sometimes (it was very good on 1st floor), sometimes the showers could be quite crowded in the morning and I do not recall it have a lift/elevator. It is about a 3 minute walk from the train station- (walk out the front of the station and you should see a sign with a hotel bed with an arrow pointing to the hostel).

Overall, I had an excellent stay
Stayed in room T for 4 nights.
I arrived early, but the room wasn't ready, so I left my bags at the hostel. The staff put the bags in the storeroom themselves and give you a receipt.
I'd already booked and paid online, so it was pretty straightforward to check in when I came back. The staff gave a lot of information about staying in the hostel and take you around showing you the facilities before taking you to your room. Kudos for being so professional.
The hostel has two buildings and my room was in the annex which required a short walk outside. The room was a 5 bed dorm with two bunk beds and a single. I got the latter as the others were occupied. None of the beds came with individual electric sockets or private lights. Although there were enough sockets to go round and the roommates were all considerate about turning off the lights late at night. I counted 4 lockable wardrobes, although I was the only one who actually used them. Plenty of space to store even a very tall bag plus hangers for coats etc. The room also had a table with chairs.
The bed was warm and comfortable. The curtains were white, paper thin, didn't cover the entire window and basically let in too much light, although I managed to get a good night's sleep all four nights. But seriously, it can't be costly to get better curtains.
The kitchens and bathrooms were all shared. The bathroom had two showers and two toilets, plus another bathroom with a shower on the same floor. All clean and functional. The only complaint about the toilets is that no soup is provided. Had to remember to take soup with me every time I went, so it was kind of annoying. The kitchen on my floor was a disgrace during the weekend. Guests using the kitchen, cooking and not washing their dishes and cooking utensils. Although the kitchen was clean after the weekend. I ended up just using the kitchen in the main building. Not really the hostels fault as they can't control inconsiderate kitchen users.
Location wise the hostel is halfway between the old town and the trendy north part of Dresden. It's about 15 to 20 minutes walk to either. The tram hubs of Albertplatz or Dresden Neustadt are easy walking distance if you prefer not to walk. There's also lots of supermarkets or restaurants and cafes nearby, so the hostel feels very central.
Overall, I had an excellent stay. Considering it's Germany, what you get is great considering the price. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout and I'd love to stay again the next time I'm in Dresden.

Great location
Great location - within walking distance from the train station. Friendly staff. Spacious room, kitchen and common room where you can mingle around. Please do note that they charged 2 Euro for linen and extras for towel; which's quite annoying considered that I spend less than 10 Euros per night in a good hostel in Prague which includes everything.

Great stay and experience.
The stay was amazing. The staff persons were so friendly and the stay felt personal. The dorm rooms are big and clean and well aired. It is rarely noisy. The bathrooms are spacious and clean and the common room is really a great place to chill in silence and meet new people. The kitchen is huge and well equipped and this is a huge bonus point. The common room felt a little dirty as though it wasn't cleaned all the time, but apart from that, everything was perfect. There's also lockers which are a bit narrow but can store essentials. Would definitely recommend
