Charming

Charming hotel with comfy beds and lovely breakfast. Quiet location and plenty of parning space. Friendly staff! The only downside was that the restaurant is closed on Mondays. We had to tanke the car to Trittau to get a meal but it’s a shorts drive.

VERY disappointing.

How come You NEVER get the room You were promised, and as it looks on the pictures !?? We were SUPPOSED to have a superiorroom with a nice bathrooms, bathproducts and robes. There were none. Our room was very small, had no robes and was quite dirty. The bathroom was even so dirty, that we didn´t want to shower. The restaurant was closed due to renovating, and the nearest restaurant, that was open, was miles away. The bed was ok and the breakfast was surprisingly good. I guess -and hope- that the reason for our bad experience was that we arrived a bit out of season (september 24th).

Rustic charm

I’ve stayed here twice for business. It is obviously an old farm converted to a hotel. The decor is very nice in the public areas but the rooms tend to be a bit spartan in the German way. The front desk is closed and front door locked after 8 PM. Also it is very helpful to know German because the staff know little to no English.
The breakfast area is beautiful with a very good selection of food.
Next door to the hotel is an equally rustic Italian restaurant. I have not eaten there but joined my colleague at the end of her meal. The staff was very pleasant.

Full of charm

Arrived late at night on a business trip and had to leave early the next morning, so I didn't have much time to enjoy it. Classic German style, seemed to be a converted barn for the most part, but renovated with nice style and quality. The breakfast room is beautiful and the food was excellent. An enjoyable but much too brief visit.

Fell in love with this place

We stumbled across this place as needed another night here. It was lovely. The decor and lounge areas suited me perfectly. Room quiet and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The owner/manager was very friendly. We enjoyed our one night stay very much and wished we found it sooner so that we could have enjoyed the 2 nights. We had dinner in the restaurant, an old water mill and enjoyed the beautiful mussels I ordered. Cannot fault anything and would definitely stay. At €99 per night we were more than happy. Thank you for a lovely stay. A quiet village and not a lot of places to go, but easy access into Hamburg and free parking, so excellent spot to stay outside the city. Not sure about public transport though, as we used our own vehicle.
