We had the absolute best stay at the coco mat hotel in Athens. Everything was 5 stars. The hotel staff were wonderful, the breakfast was better than expected, the rooms comfortable, clean and quiet. Great location, very central and walkable to pretty most anything. So close to the acropolis you can see it from the balcony!
Without hesitation, I would recommend this absolute gem of a hotel!

We paid a significant premium for an “Acropolis View” room, yet the Acropolis was only partially visible from the balcony and the room fell well short of what was advertised.
What is most concerning is that the hotel continues to market and charge a premium for Acropolis View rooms despite the widely reported closure of upper floors and rooftop facilities following planning enforcement action. If these restrictions have reduced the availability or quality of genuine Acropolis-view accommodation, guests should be clearly informed before booking, not after arrival.
The hotel refused to offer an alternative room and made no meaningful attempt to address our concerns. We believe there is compelling evidence to warrant an investigation into whether the hotel's room descriptions and marketing accurately reflect the accommodation currently being provided to guests.

Everything was perfect, the one drawback was the fact that the rooftop pool is closed until further notice due to building height restrictions. It isn’t outwardly stated during booking or maybe I missed it in the description. Either way, the spa, restaurant, room, location and incredible staff more than make up for it. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Athens 🙌

The staff was super friendly, the breakfast buffet was really good lasted me till dinner. Acropolis is near by I would definitely stay at this place if I return to Athens again

Perfect location and super comfy bed
The hotel was perfectly situated… close to bars, restaurants and the Acropolis. The hotel was modern and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were amazing and the bar selection and prices were good. Plenty of lifts.
The Wifi and aircon was perfect and the bed was super comfy.
We were disappointed to find out there is no longer a rooftop pool and the spa did not offer hot tub/steam room. These facilities would have been great after a long day of sight seeing.
We stayed for 4 nights, but found our room was a little small for us as we had large suitcases ( we were continuing our holiday at another destination). The room was modern but felt the design was more “style over substance” for us. There was a towel rail in the toilet, but the sink was in the corridor of the room- without a towel rail. Our tea/ coffee was replenished, but with green tea and decaf, rather than a selection. The slippers and bathrobe were a nice touch but were a “one size fits all” so no good for bigger than average people. We ended up using one of the robes as a bath mat.
Although we do not come on holiday to watch TV, one English speaking channel eg BBC world news would have been nice.
Our room had a small balcony but it overlooked back of buildings, bins and graffiti, so we were not inclined to sit out there.
Athens is an amazing city and we would stay at the coco-mat again, but look at upgrading to a larger room with a better balcony view, if possible.
