Everything OK

We stayed for one night, the reception staff was very kind and very helpful, the cleanliness was excellent, we had a deluxe room, very spacious, large and clean bathroom with all the personal hygiene accessories, breakfast was just right. They have an agreement with a garage on the same street to be paid separately. We will definitely be back

Mixed feelings, despite a good location

Our stay at Hotel Solun left us with somewhat mixed feelings. The rooms are comfortable and generally pleasant, although the soundproofing could definitely be better, as noise can be quite noticeable.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel benefits from a very good central location, which makes exploring Trieste particularly convenient. Breakfast was also perfectly adequate and offered a good start to the day.
One rather disappointing detail was that the televisions in both the lobby and bar were not working during our stay. As we happened to be there for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, we had hoped to watch it at the hotel but unfortunately could not. It may seem like a minor issue, but it was frustrating given that both common areas were affected.
Overall, a decent and conveniently located hotel with friendly staff and comfortable rooms, but a few details prevented the experience from feeling as polished as it could have been.

A 4-star hotel only on paper

The hotel is within walking distance from the station, and it works quite well for walking more or less everywhere. The proximity to Piazzale Oberdan is also very convenient, the terminus for various buses to get around the surroundings as well (Carso, etc.).
The property looks quite good, the room is rather spacious, clean. Comfortable bed.
But now let's move on to the drawbacks: the welcome at the reception upon arrival was timid, rather cold. After a 6-hour trip, you expect something better. The room door was defective and would only open by -literally- giving it an energetic shove with your shoulder. As soon as I arrived, I didn't succeed on the first attempt and had to call the receptionist to give me a hand, and to show me the technique for opening it. Very, very embarrassing. As soon as I entered the room, the toilet was -alas- dirty. Luckily, from the next day on they "remedied" it with impeccable cleaning, but the start was not the best.
I did not take advantage of the breakfast (which had to be paid for separately).
It's a real shame, because the property itself is actually nice - but from a 4-star hotel you expect much more attention to detail. Also because the bill, at the end of the day, was anything but cheap.

A little gem in the center of Trieste

Boutique hotel located a 10-minute walk from the central station of Trieste.
Professional and kind reception staff.
Well-furnished, soundproofed rooms equipped with every comfort: a well-stocked minibar, a kettle for tea and coffee, and above all, a large bathroom with a spacious shower and supplied with hygiene products.
The breakfast buffet is well-stocked, especially for the savory options: a ratio of 70% savory to 30% sweet. Young and courteous dining room staff.
In my experience, a hotel to keep in mind in the city of Trieste.

Great hotel for a multi-day stay in Trieste.

In early June, I stayed for 3 nights with friends at Hotel Solun in Trieste - everyone was very enthusiastic! - The rooms were spacious, the bathroom very nice, and the mattresses wonderful for sleeping. The overall design is very modern - with beautiful contemporary art; the receptionist was very friendly and had very good English skills. I must also mention the young team in the breakfast area - very friendly, quick, and everyone received their selected and very good coffee promptly. The hotel is also perfectly located - you can find everything you want in immediate proximity. The breakfast was enjoyed by everyone - plentiful, all fresh - and beautifully arranged for the pampered eye.
