Lovely little place, good price and easy into Bilbao
Picked because price for weekend stay in Bilbao was much more expensive. We went for football it took 15 mins on metro and was easy to use, cheap and all easily navigated. Hotel was clean a nice balcony and the staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. If you want loads of frills and fancy stuff pay to stay in Bilbao but this was a great choice for us.Ariz-was the stop onthe metro and was a vibrant place on the weekend with a real good atmosphere and lots of choice for quick bite to eat and drink.2 mins walk from hotel

Mediocre
Mediocre hotel with no cafeteria, but when they ask for a bottle of water at the reception, they nail you 4.5 euros.

Very disappointed
At 11.20am the cleaning lady appears and enters without knocking.
At 11.40 am the receptionist calls us to tell us that at 12.00 pm we have to leave the room, nor that we were fools. We know perfectly well the time to leave the room.
We are customers and very unhappy with the treatment received.

Very nice hotel with less nice breakfast
The hotel itself is really nice and we had great stay there.
First of all I must say that the staff at the reception were great. All employees we met were so kind, honestly helpful, with sincere smile and ready to help.
It was first impression when we came. You feel great when you are welcomed so warmly.
The room was also very nice, spacious with big bathroom and big terrace overlooking Basauri park and surrounding buildings.
We asked for the balcony and they fulfilled our wish and gave us the room with such a nice terrace. We are grateful for that.
The bed was comfortable, everything clean and we enjoyed there.
Basauri is about 20 minutes by metro from Bilbao. But connection is really great so location of this hotel is perfect and I would definitely come again there.
As we were travelling with our six-year old daughter, it was perfect. Basauri si pretty quiet place, there are playgrounds but also bars and restaurants and I really liked the place. As we rented the car, it was also very convenient because it was easy to find parking place, which for Bilbao is not the case. Bilbao is near and connection by metro is wonderful. There is metro station near the hotel , you hop on the metro and you reach Bilbao fast and easily.
The only negative thing related to hotel Armine was breakfast.
Such bad breakfast I have not exeprienced ever. It was not expensive but for what we got it was pricey.
We got almost nothing. First morning when we came to the restaurant there were some salami, cheese, kind of tapas...that seemed from the day before. And there were few of each.
We wanted cereals but there were no bowls for it. So we asked for the dishes.
There were some cakes ( also few) and that was about it.
So I asked for the eggs and the waiter made us eggs. Something!
I was astonished by all this but hoped that they were not prepared properly, not knowing why.
But the optimist as I am...and it was more practical to eat at the hotel, because of our little daughter..I somehow hoped it would have been better the next morning.
The next morning was even worse. The same thing...there was almost nothing and I asked for the eggs. The waiter responded that that there were no eggs left.
I was now mad and asked him angrily "What are we supposed to eat then?!"
So he offered us to take tapas which were prepared for breakfast to be paid in the bar ( for people who come to the bar outside the hotel).
Of course we did not pay for it because it would have been disgraceful to be charged extra!
I still cannot believe and I still do not understand what went wrong with breakfast and restaurant ...because the hotel is really nice, staff at the reception remarkable..everything great...and the restaurant, offer at the restaurant shameful.
This is unfortunately our experience.

Lovely hotel
Stayed for a few nights during the European Rugby Finals. Although hotel outside Bilbao, the Metro was a short walk up the road and cheap as chips to get into Bilbao. Hotel itself was lovely, nice spacious rooms, really big veranda with furniture and very friendly staff who advised us where to go for the Metro. Plenty to do around the hotel and people within Basauri and Bilbao very friendly and accommodating.
