A must when in Ibiza

5 star service every time. Best restaurant we’ve ever visited with a vibe like no other. You can’t explain until you have been. An absolute must if you are in Ibiza worth every penny. You absolutely get what you pay for. I dream of this place and can’t wait to return for the 4th time as soon as I can.

Magic at the table

Magical place just outside Ibiza. It is a rural hotel with a beautiful restaurant. In the evening it is enchanting with a view of the old town. Everything here is okay: the organization, the courtesy of the waiters, and the quality of what you eat. Above all, the grilled meat is in a league of its own. Excellent wine cellar. The price level is high as is fitting for a place of this kind.

Premium prices do not guarantee premium food.

With high expectations, we arrived at Casa Maca, and at first, we were not disappointed. Very attentive and friendly staff, everything very well-kept, and a wonderful view of the coast around Ibiza City. Our orders were taken promptly, and soon the appetizers, as well as the recommended cover (bread and ham), were served. The portions were generous, tasty, and lovingly arranged. Unfortunately, the main courses could not keep up afterwards. The steaks lacked grill flavor, the texture was nothing special, and the side dishes (especially the sweet potatoes) were carelessly arranged. We expected more from a premium restaurant that boasts the best steaks on the island and showcases images of the large outdoor grill. An additional charge of 58 euros for the recommended ham platter and 14 euros extra for the accompanying small bowl of tomato salsa surprised us and significantly increased the total price.
In other establishments in Ibiza, with equally pleasant ambiance, one can find better steaks at a considerably more moderate price. Therefore, unfortunately, 2 points are deducted, and it is only conditionally recommendable.

A magical place with a spectacular view.

Casa Maca is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful restaurants we have visited in Ibiza.
The view of the old town of Ibiza is breathtaking. The entire ambiance is beautiful, stylish, and at the same time relaxed. You can immediately tell how much love for detail is put into this place.
The restaurant also impressed us culinary-wise. The food was excellent.
The only point to be aware of is: The prices are very high. However, you get a unique experience, a dream location, and excellent service for that. Casa Maca knows exactly what it offers and can evidently afford these prices.
We would come back anytime for a special evening in Ibiza.

Inside the menu, the terror.

The food menu screams danger of being a scam right from the first course: a succulent salad made of 4 leaves and two tomatoes (ahhh but they are from the garden, right?!?) Estik***) at the humble price of €32. If you consider that scrolling to the bottom of the menu you find a grilled eggplant or an artichoke for the same price, you understand where you have landed. Do not open that door; it was an 80s horror... here the horror is the wine list. It is not so much the bottles priced at €14,000 or €13,000 that are frightening (the value of my annual mortgage) but the fact that a glass does not go below €50. You read that right about the glass. But do you want to be clever and avoid wine to not overly affect your annual salary? No problem: you can get a nice beer (the glass is the one you put with the water on your nightstand at night). Do you want to know the price? Do you really want to know it? €17. The taste is identical to what we call Peroni in Italy... the construction beer, to be clear. A senseless tourist trap! Stay away as the sign outside Uncle Scrooge's establishment urges!
